My story - Reliable mothers. (Sad - Horror)

By rikki chadwick (Real name - Aquamarine Dent

My mother was a kind person. She wouldn’t run off just like that. Until one day…
I love picnics, I went to the park once with my mother, and little brother James.
“Please, pass me a ham sandwich?” I asked mam. “Ok, 2 minutes.”
My mam ran down the field and into the distance. “What?” I was concerned, concerned about my mam just running off. My brother started crying. “There there James, Please be good for me.” I was getting frightened now, I was beginning to feel the pain in my eyes, I was trying not to cry, I couldn’t help it. There was a scream… from where my mam ran down to, the park gates. The gates creaked just like an 100 year old door, being used for the first time. I was fearful, and there was a crying baby next to me. My mum’s voice faintly was heard from the distance.
“Dear, over here…” It echoed smoothly, filling the air with gloomy mist.
I cried out for the echo, “Where?” There was a long pause of silence, as no reply sprung at me like a whine bottles cork top popping out the whine bottle neck.
Then a voice came, it wasn’t my mam, it sounded like a man,
“Blood, blood. Glorious blood, for in 5 days no longer your stood…”
Now I was holding James in my arms, squeezing him tightly. I gently placed James on the grass. I stood up and heard another noise,
“James, James put him to bed! For James will be in a puddle of red.”
I turned round, assuring James was ok. He was lying there like he usually was, All of a sudden everything went dark. An angel appeared.
“Glory to god, For you young Jessica your mam is gone.”

I was in a dream. This wasn’t real, but sadly it was. I wanted to start my life again.
“Oh James!” I said crying, For when I picked up James… There was nothing but poppy red blood running through my fingers. James was on the other side of the field. I ran and ran to just to hold James. James was there this time. “JAMES!” I cried.
Then a sudden sight of my mam appeared, She was hovering in a white mist.
“Mam? I-is it y-you?” I stuttered
For what came out of my mum’s mouth was a siren song. I had read about them on the internet. “Are you a siren?”
Suddenly a skinny figure appeared in the distance.
When she approached closer I figured out her appearance. She had long wavy black hair, with a pearl white maxi dress. The dress had tinted pale pink highlight just like hair. She had the greenest grass coloured eyes, and pink lip gloss on.
“Don’t worry dears, for I am here, your mother has long gone, you know because you heard her sweet siren song.” The woman held out her arms as if she wanted to hug me.
“Who are you?” I asked cautiously. “Do not fear, for I am your mum’s soul partner, I will recover, when she dies, then I become her.” She spoke wisely.
“Why did my mum just run off..?” I was approaching the woman because she was beginning to sound caring.

“Your mother was hypnotised, by the devil’s power, she ran off hypnotised and is locked deep in his tower.”
“Ok. Please can you hold James?” I asked quietly.
“For I can call you my daughter now, And please speak loud.”
“Can you hold James for me?” I said getting louder.
“James, For I am muddled with names! Your Jessica he’s James, I will call you both angels.”
Before I could speak she took my words.
“Dear I will hold Bangel, I will call James Bangel and you Angel.”
She held out her arms in expectation for James to land in her arms like baby Jesus landing in Mary’s arms.
I wasn’t to sure if she’d run off with James or Bangel and keep him for herself.
I decided to trust her, I made the right decision and she kissed him on the head.

“What’s your name?” I asked silently. Before she could speak I spoke louder.
“What’s your name!?” I asked loudly.
“For my name is never to be told. You just call me mother. An angelic soul like you must look above her. Find the answer.”
Mam pointed at a young girl emerging from the distance. Above the girl was my old mum’s face.
“Your mother shall now speak to you from the dungeon.”
‘Darling, I never got to pass you your sandwich but, I’m sorry I ran off.
You must have been petrified, you must forgive me.’
“I do, I do, Mammy! I love you! Is this girl your soul partner.” I asked.
I looked up at other mother, she smiled at me. A smile that said
‘I am always right.’ Across her face.
‘Yes, she is. Is James ok? Please the dungeon is only underground. Under the park, visit as soon! On Wednesdays, when the devil is In a good mood. Bye.’

The head of my mother disappeared.
“NO, PLEASE!” I cried out loud.
“Sorry dear, your mother is gone. For she is to not be long, I will sing you her song.”
She began singing my mum’s lullaby translated to normal words.

Sweet child rest, take the test,
Lie down close your eyes, until sunrise,
The world is dark now in the night,
For there is not one single light,
Child rest, take the test,
your eyelids shut, don’t take the cut,
For mother is here, please don’t shed a single tear,
For dad is there, he’s here to care,
The night is scary, but don’t be weary,
When mum and dad are here,
Lalala-lalala Stars shine brightly,
Lalala-lalala I am hugging you tightly
Sweet child rest take the test.
